Our ambassador rescue dog, Wyatt, is not only present on our plate, he is also present in spirit as we embark on this journey, fighting for dogs like him. Wyatt was adopted at a young age by Carla, the founder/director of FFTB. Wyatt embodied the classic traits of his breed. He was affectionate, intelligent, loyal, gentle, patient, and playful. His smile, zest for life, fun-loving personality, and eagerness to please made Wyatt a great companion and family member.
Specialty license plates are
unique in that these plates highlight various non-profit organizations, causes, and educational institutions that receive a portion of the proceeds paid by vehicle owners to display the plate as their legal license. FFTB, located in Knoxville, TN, is a 501.C3 non-profit. We do not have a facility or shelter in which to care for our dogs, nor are we affiliated with any government entity for funding. Instead, we are an in-home foster based rescue who solely relies on donations to fulfill our mission. As a non-profit, fundraising is paramount! Money generated from the purchase of this plate will provide a revenue source to off-set our operational costs, allowing us to continue our rescue efforts.
We are a fierce and determined army who has
dedicated our hearts and souls to saving our beloved Bully breeds. Pit bull type dogs are the most euthanized dogs in shelters nationwide, simply due to their sheer numbers; they disproportionately outnumber every other breed type. Backyard breeders and irresponsible owners have negatively impacted the breed causing this crisis.
We know there are many good, viable and adoptable dogs sitting in overcrowded shelters. Fighting For The Bullys is their lifeline. We rescue bully breeds from shelters who are on death row. And, because second chances are the hallmark of FFTB, we tirelessly work to adopt our dogs into loving, forever homes.
FFTB wholeheartedly believes that education
is the key to alleviating the injustices done to this breed. Our work is never done, our homes are never quiet, and our wallets are never full. Still, we continue to fight the fight ... will you join us? Adopt, foster, donate, or volunteer with a local Pit Bull rescue. Please, help us make a difference in the lives of the neglected, abused and misunderstood.
EVERYONE CAN AND SHOULD DO SOMETHING!!

Fighting For The Bullys was founded in January 2012 by Carla Welch. We are a foster based, 501.C3 Pit Bull rescue. We rescue Pit Bulls and Pit Bull type dogs from shelters off death row, and find them loving, responsible forever homes.
We invite you to explore and learn more about the work we do.
Your donation will help us to continue our mission of rescuing Pit Bull type dogs! We provide all care necessary to house a dog. Our operational costs include, but are not limited to; the purchase of Veterinary services (medical procedures, spay/neuter, medications, vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention), dog food/treats, transportation costs (fuel, insurance, van/trailer maintenance), dog crates, linens, collars/leashes and cleaning supplies.
Join our team of volunteers and make a difference in your community and in the life of a dog. Fostering is our lifeline...we always need FOSTERS. The rescue supplies everything needed to care for your foster dog. All it cost you, is a little space in your home and a lot of love!

Plate design
Fighting For The Bullys Pitbull Rescue's license plate was designed by Brandon Sutton. Brandon also lended his tech talent and assisted with our newly designed website.
Connie Puma's original artwork of Wyatt, drawn in charcoal, is the foundation of our plate design.
Special thanks to Carla Welch, Michelle Lyons-Orman and Ashley Faidley for their administrative support to make the plate possible!
